CM Revanth Lays Foundation Stone for Construction of New Osmania Hospital

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated the foundation stone for a new, state-of-the-art Osmania General Hospital (OGH) on Friday.
The ceremony was attended by Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, numerous Members of Parliament, Members of the Legislative Assembly, Members of the Legislative Council, along with various elected representatives, senior officials, and medical staff.
Later, speaking to the media, Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha remarked that the State government is developing a new Osmania Hospital on an expansive campus covering 26 acres, featuring 30 pits and an area of 32 lakh square feet. The new facility will accommodate 2,000 beds.
He also mentioned that the construction of the hospital is estimated to cost approximately Rs2,700 crore, with plans for it to be operational within two years.
The Minister indicated that the proposed hospital will include an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with a capacity of 500 beds and will house 30 departments.
"We will provide all kinds of medical services to the patients who come to Osmania. There will be no situation where the patients who come here will be sent to another place," Raja Narasimha said.
The Minister further stated that about 41 operation theatres are being made available in the new hospital and there will be dental, nursing and physiotherapy colleges within the hospital premises. In addition to this, there will be hostel facilities with modern facilities for students and faculty, an auditorium with a capacity of 750 seats, and sports grounds, he disclosed.
